The Experience

How a commission unfolds.

From the first conversation to the album bound in Italy — what working with John looks like, what is included, and what to expect along the way.

  1. 01

    The conversation

Every commission begins with a phone call. John books a small number of weddings each year, and the first conversation is mostly listening — to where, to when, to what kind of day you are imagining.

  2. 02

    The plan

A working timeline, a list of moments that matter to you specifically, and, where appropriate, a second photographer. John works closely with planners; for multi-day weddings, a team of two to three.

  3. 03

    The day

John works quietly. He carries two cameras and follows the day. He has no light stands in the church. He does not stop the bride for a portrait between the ceremony and the receiving line. The day belongs to you.

  4. 04

    The images

A small preview gallery within a week. The full, hand-edited collection within four to six weeks, delivered through a private high-resolution gallery. Print release included.

  5. 05

    The album

For couples who want one, John designs an heirloom album printed and bound by an artisan bindery in Italy. Materials, layout, and sequencing all sit with John — the album is part of the story, not an afterthought.

Investment

Quietly bespoke.

Every wedding is photographed under a custom commission. Most full-day Florida weddings begin in the low five figures; multi-day and destination celebrations are quoted individually.

A detailed investment guide is shared during the first conversation. We will only build a proposal that fits what you actually want — a small ceremony photographed in an afternoon, or a multi-day celebration covered by a small team.

Frequently asked.

How far in advance do couples book?
Most weddings are booked nine to eighteen months in advance. For peak season at Gasparilla Inn, the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, or destination dates, twenty-four months is not unusual.
Do you travel for destination weddings?
Yes — domestic and international. John has photographed weddings from Maui to New Orleans, and travels regularly throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, and Europe.
Will there be a second photographer?
Most weddings include a second shooter. For multi-day celebrations — particularly Hindu and South Asian weddings — John works with a team of two to three additional photographers to ensure no moment is missed.
When do we receive our images?
A small preview gallery is delivered within five to seven days. The full, edited collection arrives in approximately four to six weeks, delivered through a private high-resolution online gallery.
Do you offer printed albums?
Yes. John designs heirloom-quality fine-art albums in a range of sizes and bindings, including a private letterpress edition produced by an artisan bindery in Italy.
How would you describe your style?
Photojournalistic. Quiet. Editorial in its restraint. He photographs weddings the way a magazine photojournalist photographs the world — with patience, with respect for the subject, and with an eye for the picture that tells the truth of the day.
