Estate Scale in Horse Country

The World Equestrian Center is built to a scale most wedding venues are not. Grand stables, formal gardens, and ballroom interiors sit on one property, so a weekend can move from a welcome dinner to a garden ceremony to a ballroom reception without anyone getting into a car.

Ocala also sits far enough north to run cooler than the coast, which extends the outdoor season at both ends. Garden ceremonies stay comfortable here into months when a south Florida afternoon would have driven everything indoors.

Photographing Against the Stables

The stables are the signature of the property and the most useful structure on it. They give deep shade at midday, a long clean line for family groupings, and an architecture that reads immediately as this place and nowhere else.

The scale is the thing to manage. Rooms this large will swallow a small wedding party if photographed carelessly, so the work stays close and lets the property appear at the edges of the frame, as setting rather than as subject.
